Risk Evaluation and Design:
Assists in the overall account assessment. Identification of past loss history to include classification of losses by cause and size. Determine what losses could be assumed and managed and the exposures that need to be covered by insurance products. Work with account underwriters to provide products that are carefully designed to respond to each area of exposure.
Identify and Assist Client with Improving Management Controls:
Identify work processes and supervisory controls. Make sure communication avenues remain open and responsive. Assist in designing procedures to collect information related to problems and defects and providing the forward planning, design and construction contracting areas with information to avoid repeating defects. Review customer service capabilities and assist in the management of difficult problems in resolving complaints quickly and effectively.
Assist in the review of all leases, subcontract agreements and other documents making sure all necessary indemnity and insurance requirements are identified.
Work with the client in the planning for new projects. Evaluate potential exposures and assist in the design and controls to get the job done successfully with reduced risk to loss.
Direct and Control Claims and Litigation:
Assist the client in promptly responding to claims and litigation. Evaluate the cause of the loss and how best to respond to control the damages. Assist in the investigation and reporting requirements of the insurance carriers. Help the client navigate the treacherous path required by various statues to make sure procedures remain on track.
When required, assist in the selection of defense counsel and experts, directing their activity to maximize the client’s chances for a successful, coordinated and cost effective litigation result. Keep the client, insurance carriers and others up to date at all stages of the litigation process.
